A hilarious pilot starring Chelsea Handler, Christine Lakin, Dan Levy (a funny comedian with a new MTV series in production), Shar Jackson (yes, Kevin’s ex), Andrew Firestone (“The Bachelor”), and Lindsay Stoddart, along with that hot model/actor dude from Britney Spears’ “Toxic” video.
Two 20-something friends (Christine Lakin and Lindsay Stoddart), both on the down and outs (one has supposedly sold Lindsay Lohan’s supposedly coke-filled purse on eBay and has been drummed out of Lindsay’s entourage; the other has been typecast from her years on the teen-angst hit TV series [but now-cancelled] “Tara’s Point” — and is uncastable… she’s just been fired by her agent) decide that their lives are basically over at age 27… they have no fame, no fortune.
They concoct a daring plan: do what all the celebs are doing, some really bad, outrageous behavior, but make sure it gets splashed in all the tabloids — and they’ll have instant fame. They’ll become so famous (“dirty famous”) that they’ll be able to regain their careers.
They hire a publicist (Chelsea Handler) who decides that one of the girls should make a sex tape with Andrew Firestone from “The Bachelor”. But things go awry and they have to punt. Mayhem and comedy arise in a crazy, hilarious ending.
Written and Executive Produced by Tim Gibbons (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”), Matt Heller and Heather Rutman, and directed by Alex Winter (“Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure”), the pilot was sadly dumped by the network in favor of a reality show.
